striking Italian micro mosaic forget me not frame

STUNNING ITALIAN MICRO-MOSAIC PHOTO FRAME

This beautiful example is 7 1/2 inchs deep and  6 1/4 inchs wide

Probably Victorian. The frame was recently professionally cleaned however, no restoration has been undertaken.

Top wire ropework slightly  loose and the back hanging clip has long since been missing.

Keeble receives plenty of criticism for the grissly Captain, I have to admit that a pretty child would enhance this frame

Assembled from very small pieces of glass, the variegation and colour co-ordination adds to the effectiveness.

Only a few minor pieces are missing, this would readily lend to restoration. if required.

attractive chess board border fruitwood marquetry

ATTRACTIVE CHESS BOARD

This very interesting example was probably Victorian.

It is believed that the outer small fruitwood pieces were re-laid ,on the pine wood base to which the centre pieces were then added.

The outer pieces indicate that they could easily have previously been part of an 18th  Italian piece of furntiure.

Presumably designed as a board, at some stage legs were fitted.

Then horror of horrors, a plant pot was left on. This has caused the inner surface to raise - but restoration would be readily possible.

Outer dimensions 23 inches square - few minor outer pieces missing.
